Food for Life: Holiday Dishes for Everyone

Though more people than ever follow a specific diet, it is possible to offer dishes that work for family and guests adhering to almost any diet. Due to people’s health concerns, environmental or humane values, allergies, or cultural or religious traditions, certain ingredients must be left out. The Physicians Committee’s Universal Meals recipes are free of animal products, gluten-containing grains, nuts, alcohol, and other common allergens to accommodate the great majority of dietary preferences and allergies. Attending a Universal Meals class prepares you to make almost any dining guest happy!
Over two hours, physician and certified Food For Life instructor Dr Nora E. Hanke will present simple guidelines and demonstrate recipes that focus on vegetables, fruits, legumes, non-gluten grains, herbs, and spices. The dishes were created by leading culinary experts to appeal to virtually everyone, regardless of their dietary requirements.
This class is well suited to hosts wishing to accommodate dinner guests with specific dietary requirements, or people working in food service.
Class participants will be offered samples of all dishes, and leave with written materials and references to additional Universal Meals resources.
