NEW ENGLAND EXPLORER TRIP: YORK, MAINE
This was once a very popular annual excursion by the Jaffrey Recreation Department...for decades!
We are bringing back the tradition after a six-year hiatus. We will once again be offering this classic New England summer day trip!
FIRST STOP: FOSTER'S CLAMBAKE.
We will be entertained by a live musician while we dine on a classic New England Clambake Meal.
Our meal includes: New England Clam Chowder, Freshly Dug Maine Clams, Cultivated Mussels, Succulent Maine Lobster (should be soft shell lobsters at this time of year), Sweet Corn on the Cob, Hot Drawn Butter, Roasted Red Bliss Potatoes & Onions, Rolls & Butter, Blueberry Crumb Cake. Bib and wipes included!
BBQ Chicken or Vegetarian Polenta with Roasted Vegetables and Marinara offered as an alternative to lobster.
Coffee, Tea, Iced Tea, Lemonade are also included. There is a full bar available for any other drink requests, for purchase.
Tax and Gratuity are included.
NEXT STOP: "THE NUBBLE", Nubble Lighthouse (Cape Neddick Station), for a quick photo-op. This is one of the most photographed lighthouses in the country.
FINAL STOP: For an ice cream or sweet treat at The Goldenrod. A historic, classic, American restaurant, candy shop and ice cream parlor. The Goldenrod has been in operation since 1896 and is famous for its homemade saltwater taffy, fudge and chocolates that you can watch being made from the front window. This nostalgic establishment also features homemade ice cream and fountain treats. Treats to be purchased on your own.
Cost is: $75 for residents, $80 for non-residents.
Includes transportation, full meal at Foster's, including tax and gratuity.

Trip departs at 9:00 am from Jaffrey Parks and Recreation parking lot at Humiston Field, 31 Howard Hill Road
Trip returns approximately 5:00 pm.
Registration deadline: July 30, 2026
JPRD Refund Policy:
Cancellation requests must be made by a patron seven or more days before the program start date to receive a full refund.
Registration cancelled by a patron six days or less, or after a program has started, will not be issued a full refund.
A partial refund may be available for some programs.
Processing/convenience fees for credit card payments will not be refunded.
Refunds will be made in the form of a check and may take up to two weeks to be processed and mailed.
